Meg Zakany is the co-founder of Grrrls Rock Columbus, and works at the library when she’s not playing music. Caity is a self-described “service-industry lifer”, musician, and dedicated volunteer at Grrrls Rock Columbus.
Grrrls Rock Columbus is a music and creative arts camp held in the summer. The camp builds self-esteem and empowerment through musical and creative expression, education, and performance. By providing workshops and technical training to girls, trans, and gender variant youth ages 12-18, Grrrls Rock Columbus creates leadership opportunities, cultivates a supportive community of peers and mentors, encourages social change, and fosters the development of life skills.
Grrrls Rock Columbus is a volunteer-run organization that believes all girls, trans and gender variant youth should have access to camp regardless of cultural background, disability status, or sexual orientation.
